At a Dallas auction early this week, this Hermes Diamond Birkin handbag went for 3,150, but the collector wishes to be anonymous, Heritage Auctions claims.

This may look like an ordinary crocodile leathear bag, but what makes this really valuable is that this piece, made with crocodile hide actually, comes with a diamond encrusted hardware and 18-karat white gold.

Early this year, Bottega Veneta released a rather odd-looking handbag I’m not sure was designed by a person with the right frame of mind. Take a look at the whole thing:



If not for the really white and clean look, I could’ve sworn this bag was garbage left to be played with by cats believing it was their scratching post.

Bottega Veneta normally does away with bold pieces and stick with the classic and simple designs. This is coming out of their comfort zone and releasing a bag that surely does let one do a double take, but for the wrong reasons.

The bag is beautiful and unique, don’t get me wrong. But it has a particular style to it that may be a little bit too much to carry around.

For one thing, it’s so yellow, which in itself is hard to match with just about any type of outfit. It also comes in a shape of sunglasses, and this oddly gives it an edgy vibe. The handbag doesn’t look versatile and will most likely attract too much attention when worn on a regular event.



However, if you want to make a splashy statement, then this is the perfect bag for it. I particularly love what is inside this handbag because of its snake-like texture. You don’t see this in a design very often.

Costing 8.00 at Shopbop, this also comes in black. But the yellow definitely delivers a lot more character and makes one look absolutely interesting.

I am definitely loving the structured form of satchels and for these particular set of handbags, they do look sophisticated and business-like. Their power bags, if you will, and would definitely bounce off that impression that you’re a woman of style and sensibility.

These handbags also come at the right size (10 x 13 x 13), which offers enough room for your usual stuff and gadgets, but it isn’t big and overpowering.
