According to reports, a leather goods company based in Italy has manufactured handbags that is actually from the original design of the scientist and artist. Da Vinci apparently drew this on paper several centuries ago.

The handbag, which will be called Pretiosa (meaning, Precious in Italian), will go on sale by March 1. It comes from the company Gherardini, and it is made of calfskin leather with hand-sewn embroidery and a brass handle.

Pretiosa comes in only 99 pieces, which means that this is an ultimate collector’s items. The drawing of the purse was apparently filed in The Codex Atlanticus, which is a book that contains all of Da Vinci’s work between 1478 to 1519.

Bright and colorful, this handbag definitely screams spring time! I can get on board with this handbag, despite its really bright colors. I think that it adds a touch of vibrance onto a wardrobe and I would probably be seen carrying a bag like this for spring.

This piece is so retro and I do love the touch of gold with its chain handle and opening. I think that what’s make it so chic, but with a hint of vintage.

The only thing I don’t like about it is the size because I think it’s too small for my use. But then again, if one is carrying around a colorful piece like this, then something huge can be too overpowering. Thus, its size is already a good fit.
